FAQ

We try to anticipate questions you might have and provide the answers here. If you need additional information please email us through the contact page on this site.

1. How much does a tattoo cost?

Tattoo pricing is subjective. The best way to get an estimate for your tattoo is to stop in at Altered Images. Bring any ideas or reference images you have. We want to hear & see your ideas.

2. Do you accept walk-ins?

Appointments are always best, but sometimes tattoos can be spur of the moment. We would love to accommodate you. Stop in or call for availability.

3. How old do you have to be?

18. No parental consent. state law.

4. Do you do cover ups?

Yes, when it is possible. Some tattoos cannot or should not be covered. Easiest way to find out for sure is to come in person to Altered Images.

5. How to get a tattoo from an artist?

Once you have looked through portfolios and have selected an artist (make sure that the tattoo you want matches their style), either email, call or visit the shop with any reference you may have to help us help you. If the artist needs time to draw, you may be asked for a small drawing fee which is non-refundable. When the design is finalized, we then require a $50 deposit to secure your spot and go towards the final price.

6. Does it hurt?

Yes. They all hurt to some extent. If you cannot or do not know your pain threshold, then you should consider against designs with many straight lines and circles, are large, or in a tender area such as the rib area for your first tattoo.

7. Do your artists accept tips?

Yes. The artist does not get all the money from your tattoo. They split with shop and then pay for materials, so they are always appreciative of any tip. Of course you don't have to tip if you were not satisfied.
